Also, they tend to make better choices and daily habits and routine routines.

Having a positive outlook on things allows you to take risks that lead to growth. When we look at the possibilities with an optimistic view, we tend to believe in ourselves to do it. Not only that, if we should face failure, we know it is a lesson and we keep looking for another way to try again.

Optimistic people also tend to end up wealthier, simply because they put in the work and believed in themselves. So we end up healthier, wealthier and happier from starting with an optimistic mindset!!

You start noticing when good things happen

Take note when someone does a nice gesture for you, such as opening a door or making your coffee. Smile at someone and you usually get a smile back. These small gestures remind us people are good.

It’s a weekend and you wake up to a dark and rainy day. You could either spend the day cursing about how you wasted a day, or make it work for you. Organize your house, return those emails, exercise. Try a new recipe or spend time on a hobby. Maybe it’s a day to make a cup of tea, grab a good book, or binge watch your favorite shows. Nobody said we have to be gloomy just because the weather is.

Practice gratitude for simple pleasures. You wake up in a comfy bed, pour a cup of coffee and feel healthy. This includes the beauty of nature and everything you love. Take moments to journal your gratitude. This will brighten your mood and keep gratitude with you throughout your day.

Allow the process, success doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a messy trail of late nights, motivation, hard work, failures, discipline, and consistency. If you fail at something, and you probably will a few times, take the lesson and remember the benefit benefits of being an optimist. Try again. Be aware of your weaknesses, and be confident in your abilities. When goals are met, reward yourself and take credit where it’s due.

How an Optimist uses "what if" to their benefit

Why is it when we start a sentence with the words, "what if", it’s usually focused towards a negative result.

When you find yourself thinking in a negative direction, stop and turn it around. Say to yourself, what if this works? . What will my life look like if I succeed at this? What do I stand to gain from this?

Start focusing on the positive what if's and you’ll start to reframe your mindset. Being a more positive and optimistic person, you will believe in yourself and feel excited to take the first steps. You will build the foundations needed to meet your goals.

So what if you started today? Right now, what is your first step? Write it down, look it up, read about it. However you want to start, just start! Start enjoying the benefits of being an optimist, I believe in you so, start believing in yourself!
