No, you do not have to wait for the new year to challenge yourself to something new!

Why do we always seem to do that? Wait for a specific day to start improving ourselves. We all know how successful, or not, New Year’s resolutions end up. How many promises to ourselves are left behind because we didn’t have time?

Instead, give yourself a 30 day challenge starting today. When we consistently try something, no matter how small, doing it on a daily basis teaches our brain to develop it as a habit. Once we develop a habit, it becomes little to no effort to stick with it.

You deserve not to settle

If you want to change, but are not working to improve yourself, you are settling for who you are and what you have now. Whether that is staying at a low paying job, not taking care of your body, being too intimidated to join a group, or starting a new hobby. If things are not changing it is because of your lack of commitment to yourself.

I know that building new habits does not just happen. It takes work and it takes time, so challenge yourself to 30 days. That is one month. You know and I know, you are worth a month of effort!

Here is a scenario to ponder. You want to get in better physical shape. You are offered a new magical pill that will get you fit overnight, but you can never indulge in your favorite foods again. If you do you bounce right back to the body you have now... this is the experience with most diets. You work your butt off just to fall back into old habits and end right back where you started.

I’m sure most of you have heard the old saying “slow and steady wins the race.”

Give yourself a challenge rather than a quick fix. Work on changing your habits slowly. Your progress will seem to take longer, but it will become a routine that you can easily keep. Changing your old habits to healthier ones, will show progress and still allows you to enjoy those desserts.

Challenge yourself to 30 days

We all have areas we would like to improve on no matter how life is going. We all strive for something. If you have a big goal break it into little action steps. Start by improving on one thing first, a small action step, and then challenge yourself 30 days of consistency to show up.

Want to be in better shape, cute out breads. Want to get a better job, take an online course. The internet today has so many free resources. There is really no excuse as to why we can’t better ourselves and live a life we truly love.

When we graduate high school, our parents tell us we can succeed at anything and we tend to believe it. We are young and we feel invincible. As we get older, we start to forget that feeling and we start doubting ourselves. The trick is to find that spark that we had the day we graduated school, when we felt we had our whole life ahead of us.

We are no less worthy than we were as a child playing out our ideal role, superhero, a rocket scientist perhaps. It is only that our mindset about ourselves has changed. We tend to become aware of what we think others are thinking, and therefore start doubting our strength.

Learn to control your thoughts rather than your thoughts controlling you.

Start your 30 day challenge to a better you today!
