Take a moment
The fast pace of life often leaves our mind restless and anxious. How are we supposed to master our thoughts and set our goals, when we can’t take a moment to do so?
We must slow down and allow ourselves to take a break. This way we can sit quietly with our thoughts for a few moments. It is only once we step back from our distractions, that we can focus our inner desires and what we want from life.
Take a moment now, as little as 5 minutes can help you re-focus your day!
Meditation has been around for ages and I’m sure we can all picture ourselves sitting cross legged on a comfy pillow. However, this is only one way to meditate. If finding a quiet space to close your eyes isn’t an option for you, start with mindful meditation. While you’re walking your dog or simply preparing dinner, just be in the moment. Focus on your thoughts and emotions and let them pass without judgment.
Journaling is another great outlet. You can make a list, draw or doodle, or write a short story of your day. Getting your thoughts on paper and physically looking at them, helps organize them. Minds have a lot going on. Many experts believe our minds can average of 2500 to 3300 thoughts per hour, no wonder we can feel tired or overwhelmed!
There are many ways to meditate, so once you try a few methods, you can decide what works best for you. Once you find what works, try to spend some time on a daily. Start with 3 minutes and work your way up. Each time you take a moment, helps you to develop the habit and self discipline, that will help you gain momentum.
Don’t ignore your dreams
With all the activity that makes up our day, how much of it do we truly spend on ourselves? Your future version deserves to be given the chance to grow and become reality. Be good at your job, but don’t get stuck making someone else’s dream come true while you leave here behind.
Follow social media that inspires or teaches you something. Watch documentaries on people you are inspired by. Stop listening to what everyone else thinks you should be doing and do what sparks your passions!
It is our daily little decisions that make up the final results. Take a moment for yourself. Be mindful in your thoughts, be kind with yourself, and allow the process. Think about what you are now and where you want to be. I know you deserve to live your true potential and small steps will get you there.
